Adult Cardiac Diseases refers to the various conditions or diseases that develop over time and present in early, mid, or late adulthood. This is different from the heart conditions that you are born with (congenital heart defects). Heart failure, coronary artery disease some of the reasons for visits to the doctors and the hospital stays. The heart and blood vessels get stiffen with the normal aging and it can steer you to these conditions in the later years.

There are various type of heart diseases that affects the different parts of the body, which are Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), coronary heart diseases, dilated cardiomyopathy (heart muscle get weakens), myocardial infarction (heart attack), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart failure, mitral regurgitation, mitral valve prolapse, pulmonary stenosis.

Adult heart diseases are further divided into three major subcategories which are Coronary Artery Diseases, Valvular Heart Diseases and other Structural Heart Diseases.
